Emergency Procedures
Transport delivery drivers working on Manchester Tank and Equipment sites must obey and follow all alarms and directions during an emergency. Failure to do so will result in the termination of contracts.
In the event of a fire, gas leak or chemical spill, Contractors will:
- Notify an Area Warden or the Site Contact immediately, advising the location of and the type of fire, spill or leak and follow his/her instructions.
- If you are unable to contact an Area Warden or the Site Contact, locate the nearest BREAK GLASS ALARM, break the glass and proceed to the evacuation assembly point immediately.
EVACUATION PROCEDURE
- Be aware of and obey the evacuation signal.
- If the evacuation alarm is sounded, switch off any plant (if safe to do so) and proceed to the nearest and safest exit door. Make sure to close doors behind you.
- Proceed to the evacuation assembly point located in front of the office building.
- Assemble in an orderly manner at the evacuation assembly point. This will allow for a head count to be conducted by the Area Warden.
- Notify the Area Warden immediately if you know of someone who is missing and of his or her possible location.
- Notify the Area Warden of any relevant details concerning the emergency such as, where the fire, spill or leak is located and the type and size of the fire, spill or leak.
- You are to remain at the evacuation assembly point until the Chief Fire Warden has given the all clear.
